England flanker Sam Underhill is an harm doubt for the Six Nations after Tub introduced he requires ankle surgical procedure.

The 28-year-old injured his ankle in Tub’s 35-34 defeat by Premiership champions Northampton on Sunday.

Tub issued a medical replace to say he’ll “bear surgical procedure to rectify a brand new ankle harm” with there being “no set timeframe on his restoration”.

Underhill, since his exclusion from England’s authentic Rugby World Cup squad in 2023, has established himself as a daily in Steve Borthwick’s beginning crew at open-side flanker.

He began each recreation for England after the World Cup in 2023, and performed in current autumn defeats by South Africa and Japan, scoring a strive in each.

It was an ankle harm which saved Underhill, who has been capped 40 instances, out Borthwick’s facet’s opening two autumn Checks in opposition to New Zealand and Australia.
